Art For Hospitals +

It’s been a great year!  I have been building Art For Hospitals + for a few years now and it’s been a very rewarding process.

After painting the oil painting Twins for Mercy Ardmore in June of 2014, the diptych was finally ready for the finishing coats and ready to be installed into my hometown hospital where I was born.  This past January the works were loaded and up in a truck and I met a team at the hospital to hang the pair of paintings.  It was a wonderful and exciting day, and a terrific experience to work with such lovely people.  I appreciate the staff at Mercy embracing my work and the vision of Art For Hospitals +.

A very special thank you to those that have been involved in the launch of Art For Hospitals +.  A special shout out to my parents, Dr. James O. Young, Andre Moore, Daryle Voss and the wonderful installation team.

Caring for Your Paintings

There are many things to consider when you have a painting that you want to keep in good condition.  Two of the most important factors are temperature and humidity.  When thinking of the environment for your work of art, it is best to think of museums and the lengths taken to regulate conditions to maintain historical works.

Caring for Your Paintings is a great article from the Smithsonian Museum Conservation Institute.  These experts cover the most important factors into caring, hanging and maintaining paintings.  A great read for anyone who owns or cares for fine art.

As always, please direct any of your questions regarding caring for your paintings to me.  I’m happy to answer.  Feel free to contact me here and sign up for the newsletter here.
